Not every home is meant to make a statement. Some are meant to make you feel at ease the moment you walk through the door.

Designed by Spellbound Atelier for an NRI family from Kerala, this residence was envisioned as a quiet retreat above the city—a place that would welcome them back whenever they returned to Bangalore. Warm timber, woven cane, linen fabrics and subtle brass detailing create interiors that feel understated, familiar and timeless.

For us, the challenge lay not in creating the design, but in preserving it through execution. Every junction, every grain match, every veneer line, every custom-built piece and every timber ceiling had to come together exactly as intended. Achieving that level of consistency within the constraints of a nineteenth-floor apartment—restricted working hours, limited site access and a four-month programme—required careful planning and disciplined craftsmanship.

The finished home doesn't rely on dramatic features to define it. Its character comes from the quiet confidence of well-executed details and the warmth of natural materials. It is a home designed to be lived in, to be returned to, and to feel just as welcoming years from now as it did on the day it was completed.
